President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of 26 individuals into the boards and management of 10 Federal Government agencies and commissions, in a move aimed at strengthening governance and improving service delivery across critical sectors.
Among the appointments, former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, was named Chairman of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), while Major General Junaid Bindawa (Rtd.) was appointed Chairman of the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission.
Fayose will lead the REA board alongside Alhaji Ahmadu Abubakar and Engineer Ilyasu Ibrahim Makinta, who were appointed as members and non-executive directors. The agency’s Director-General, Abba Abubakar Aliyu, and three previously appointed executive directors will complete the board.
President Tinubu also reconstituted the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission, appointing Olajumoke Okoya-Thomas, a former member of the House of Representatives, as Secretary of the Commission.
Other commissioners appointed to the commission include Dr. Ogbole Ene Lilian (Benue), Oladele Olatubosun (Oyo), and Yakubu Umar Barde (Kaduna). Additional members are Dr. Mai Adamu Yau (Borno), Ginika Florence Tor (Enugu), Engineer Lawrence Okoh (Edo), and Bello Morenike Iyabode (Kogi).
In another development, Tosin Johnson Adeyanju, who previously served as Executive Secretary of the National Lottery Trust Fund (NLTF), has been redeployed as Secretary of the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC).
The President also approved the appointment of Dr. Abuh Mohammed as Director-General of the National Population Commission (NPC), Dr. Akinola Odeyemi as Managing Director of the Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading (NBET), and Dr. Anthony Inalegwu Godwin as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission.
Also appointed is Engineer Julius Oloro as the new Chief Executive Officer of the National Centre for Agricultural Mechanisation (NCAM) in Kwara State, succeeding the late Dr. A.R. Kamal, who passed away earlier this year.
President Tinubu further inaugurated the board of the Fiscal Responsibility Commission, with Dr. Abdullahi Maikano Saidu as Chairman. Other board members include Mohammed Asmau, Mohammed Aliyu Makama, Dr. Suleiman Gidado, Louis O. Ndukwe, Amaechi Ugwele, and Olaniyi Idowu Onikola.
Additionally, Shuni Muhammad Dahiru was appointed Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Mass Literacy, Adult and Non-Formal Education, replacing Professor Shu’aibu Shehu Aliyu, who was earlier reassigned to the Petroleum Trust Development Fund (PTDF).
To fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Mathias Byuan, former Executive Director (Finance) of the Federal Housing Authority (FHA), President Tinubu appointed Gisaor Vincent Iorja, an economist, legal scholar, and current Secretary of the Benue State Independent Electoral Commission (BSIEC).
According to the Presidency, all the appointments take immediate effect, with the new appointees expected to provide strategic leadership and enhance the performance of their respective agencies in line with the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
