Football’s governing body, FIFA, has announced a major change to the traditional pre-match ceremony ahead of future FIFA World Cup tournaments, introducing a fresh format designed to enhance the spectacle and atmosphere before kick-off.

Under the new arrangement, teams will no longer line up in the customary parallel rows during pre-match proceedings. Instead, players from each squad, including substitutes and coaching staff, will gather in separate circles within their respective halves of the pitch.
The revised format also introduces a more visually striking national anthem presentation. During the rendition of the anthems, two giant national flags will be unfurled across each side of the playing field, creating a grander display of national pride and identity.
The new ceremony is aimed at modernising the World Cup experience while providing fans in the stadium and around the world with a more engaging and memorable pre-match spectacle.
FIFA believes the changes will add to the excitement and pageantry that make the World Cup one of the most celebrated sporting events globally.
Football enthusiasts are already reacting to the announcement, with many eager to see how the revamped ceremony will enhance the atmosphere at the world’s biggest football tournament.
