The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has introduced a new online system that allows candidates seeking admission into Nigerian tertiary institutions through the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) to verify and upload their O’Level results without visiting a Computer-Based Test (CBT) centre.
The development represents a significant change from the previous procedure, where candidates were required to physically visit accredited JAMB CBT centres to upload their WAEC, NECO, NABTEB or other recognised O’Level results.
Under the new arrangement, eligible candidates can access the service remotely through JAMB’s online platform, making it easier for applicants to update their academic records from the comfort of their homes.
The initiative is expected to reduce congestion at CBT centres, save candidates the cost and inconvenience of travelling to registration centres, and make the admission process more convenient.
Candidates are nevertheless advised to ensure that the details of their O’Level results are accurate and properly reflected on their JAMB profile. An incorrect or missing result could affect the processing of an admission offer.
The development comes as JAMB continues to expand its use of digital technology in the management of the nation’s tertiary admission process.
The board has also urged candidates to rely on its official platforms and accredited channels for admission-related services and avoid individuals who may attempt to exploit the new system for fraudulent purposes.
The new arrangement is expected to particularly benefit candidates who live far from accredited CBT centres or have previously experienced difficulties completing the O’Level upload process.
JAMB’s latest move further underscores the board’s push towards a more efficient, technology-driven admission system, with candidates now having greater flexibility in managing important aspects of their admission profiles.
