The governorship flagbearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Sen. Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli, has pledged to govern the state with the fear of God if elected in the 2027 gubernatorial election.
Senator Alli made the declaration during a thanksgiving service held at Word Communication Christian Ministries (WOCOM) in Ibadan, where he joined worshippers to express gratitude to God following his emergence as the APC governorship candidate.

Addressing the congregation, the lawmaker emphasized that his aspiration to lead Oyo State is rooted in service, integrity, and accountability before God. He assured residents that his administration would be guided by godly principles, fairness, and a commitment to the welfare of the people.

“I will govern Oyo State with the fear of God,” Alli stated, stressing that leadership should be anchored on honesty, compassion, and the pursuit of the common good.
The APC standard-bearer, however, noted that the church was not a platform for political campaigns, explaining that his presence at the thanksgiving service was solely to appreciate God and seek divine guidance for the task ahead.
He expressed gratitude to the church leadership and members for their prayers and support, urging them to continue praying for peace, unity, and progress in Oyo State.
The thanksgiving service attracted church leaders, APC supporters, community stakeholders, and well-wishers who joined the senator in celebrating what he described as a significant milestone in his political journey.
Observers say the visit reflects Alli’s commitment to seeking spiritual guidance as preparations intensify ahead of the 2027 governorship election in Oyo State.
